# RulesAtSea

> RulesAtSea is an English-language interactive marine training environment for practising collision avoidance, vessel identification and navigation signals using a simulator.

The canonical website is https://rulesatsea.com/. Its foundation collection uses the International COLREGs and authored open-water situations. Learners observe a situation, choose an action or identification, and review feedback with a manoeuvre replay where applicable. The simulator offers chart and on-board views, daylight and night presentation, playback controls and sound playback.

Current exercises cover crossing, head-on and overtaking encounters, power-driven and sailing vessels, navigation-light identification and a manoeuvring sound signal. Exercises share the homepage; they do not currently have separate public URLs. The interactive experience requires JavaScript.

Buoyage and navigation marks, inland waterways, day shapes and distress signals, and practical seamanship are planned curriculum areas. They are not completed courses in the current collection.

Training uses simplified illustrative dynamics and authored decisions. It is not a certification examination or a real-world navigation service. Follow the full applicable rules and local requirements on the water. Geometric closest approach and replay do not establish legal duties or certify a manoeuvre as safe.
